Arseniy Yatseniuk, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met Bronislaw Komorowski, Sejm Marshal of the Republic of Poland, on 5 March.
The Parties discussed a number of issues concerning political situation in Ukraine and possibilities of improving cooperation between the parliaments of Ukraine and the Republic of Poland.
Bronislaw Komorowski underscored importance of cooperation at the level of self-government between the parliaments of both countries.
Sejm Marshal of the Republic of Poland informed the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of changes that took place due to Poland´s accession to the European Union, increased importance of national parliaments and the European Parliament in legislative activity. He also called for holding a meeting of the Ukrainian-Polish Interparliamentary Assembly in Warsaw in autumn, 2008.
